Berlin cushions
The pacification of urban traffic provided by rubber reducers must be compatible with the need for a regular and smooth speed for certain special vehicles such as ambulances or adapted transport.
For this purpose, it has been devised an element of speed reduction (the “Berlin Cushion”) which discourages speeding of passenger cars but allows vehicles exceeding 160cm of free width to pass without shock, such as ambulances and vans adapted for wheelchairs.
